Have you learned the basics of skating?
Do you want to play hockey?
Join us in the Austin Adult Development Hockey League (ADHL)! The ADHL is designed for adults new to hockey to gain the skills and confidence required to move up to the C2 and higher levels.
The ADHL follows the season format, similar to the leagues, with some modifications to help newer players learn the game. Players are assigned to a team and get to learn all the positions while practicing their skills. We meet on Saturdays at The Pond Hockey Club on the Pond side.
Each session includes 30 minute coach-led training and a full game. The training session reviews basic skills of skating, stick handling, passing, and positional play. The full game consists of three periods of 13 mins each, with mentors to help teach the basics while playing. Because we play on a 3/4 sheet of ice, some modifications to the USA Hockey rules are applied to make gameplay easier.
Anyone is invited to come and try a session free of charge as long as you contact us to arrange it.
